Disbelief in the Holy of Holies

Does doubt lurk even at the very heart of religion -- even in the Holy of Holies?

That is one of the claims made in the new experimental paper we have posted on the Web. We do hope you will take advantage of the more advanced format for commenting it offers and weigh in.

Yes, but I think not exactly in the sense your romantic phrase suggest to me. I might say as individuals we tailor our faiths specifically to our inner skeptic and urge to doubt. But the result is that we find it impossible to doubt or fear what we entangle in our faith (e.g. death, investment of all kinds). Or if not impossible, the tailoring of faith to doubt makes doubt less possible than we might consider natural.

Sorry: That was more of a teaser than an assertion, wasn't it? I guess I'm just a little overly itchin for a fight.
