I’ve been working on this painting since the Rat Town Promenade. This is the map I used.

hmmm, i’m sorry to see that your Rat Town Promenade neglected to go up to Carlton between Atlantic & Fulton - there’s always a bit pile of garbage on that street, in which reside more rats than I’ve ever seen anywhere else in New York. It is truly astonishing and very much one of the highlights of the neighborhood.

I was just trying to walk the periphery of the proposed project as best as I could determine from various maps (thought the footprint changes). Trying to figure out what might be taken by emminant domain, etc…. and imagine what the skyline would be like. Ratner made a bad advertisement for his vision by builing a red brick erector set glass facade box next to the Williamsburgh Bank Building… I’m unsure if Gehry knows what to do with verticality… Clearly, though, the Atlantic Yards area is ugly and under used (though I do have a week spot for such desolate landscapes)… So I’m just thinking about it.
